BRIAN
CRANO
director, writer, producer
At 18, Brian earned a B.A. in Theatre (acting and playwrighting)
from UCLA's School of Theatre Film and Television. Following that and
while completing his postgraduate degree in classical acting and text
at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Brian wrote 12th
Premise, a play, which premiered at the Edinburgh Festival in 2003
to rave reviews. After workshops at the New Ambassadors Theatre in London’s
West End and off-Broadway in 2004, 12th Premise made its 2005
U.S. premiere in Los Angeles, for which Brian was praised for “…reinventing
L.A. theatre from the inside out, part of a new generation creating
new styles, with a unique voice sharing genuine knowing visions, proving
that this great generation is mature beyond its years…”
(Metro LA, April, 2005). Since, Brian has been writing screenplays including
The Way We Were Made and A Bag Of Hammers, which he will helm,
currently in pre-production with producers Peter Friedlander and Lucy
Donnelly. RUBBERHEART marks his directoral debut.
Brian would
like to dedicate Rubberheart
and indeed all his work, to his parents, William and Suellen, who have
encouraged and enabled all his dreams, as his best teachers, toughest
critics, and biggest supporters.
Brian is
represented by Rachel Daniels at Berlin Associates in London.
