May 8 2008 Cracking Latvia
RUBBERHEART
has been invited to screen at our 13th international festival as part of the 2ANNAS INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION. Or as it is sometimes known 2ANNASISFFIC. The festival takes place in Riga, Latvia, which we have heard is like the Montreal of the Baltic region. The festival takes place from May 27 - June 1, 2008.

Here is some interesting information about Latvia:
• Riga has the largest airport in the Baltic states.
• Latvia joined the European Union in 2004.
• Since 1767 the population has grown from 19,500 to 722,485 in 2007
• Some of Riga's sister cities are : Kobe, Japan; Minsk, Belarus; Bremen, Germany; Cairns, Australia and Slough, United Kingdom.
• Here is a weather report:

April 17 2008 Audience Chooses Rubber
We would like to announce that RUBBERHEART has won the second place AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD at the EAST LANSING FILM FESTIVAL. We are very proud. Thank you East Lansing.
April 6 2008 Perth Loves Rubber
We have just been invited to participate in our 12th festival, the 10th annual REVELATION PERTH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL. We couldn't be more pleased to be breaking into Australia. The festival takes place in Perth between July 3 - 13, 2008. No information yet as to when we will be screening yet, but as ever, if you keep checking back, we will let you know.

April 3 2008 ROMANCE...in Ohio
ROMANCE is the title of the program we will be screening in at the 35th annual ATHENS INTERNATIONAL FILM AND VIDEO FESTIVAL. Ruth Bradley, festival director writes of the program, "It's a strong and basically funny, sweet show." Sounds promising to me. What more can you want at a film festival?

The screening will take place Monday | April 28 | 2008 | 9p.m.| in Athens.

March 26 2008 ATHENS! Ohio...
Rubberfriends, more good news. RUBBERHEART has been invited to screen at the 35th Annual ATHENS INTERNATIONAL FILM AND VIDEO FESTIVAL. The festival takes place in Athens, Ohio from April 25- May 1, 2008. We am very excited about this, because we have heard such nice things about the festival from other filmmakers. And of course RUBBERHEART runner William Crano is from Ohio. Either way, this is RUBBERHEART's eleventh festival and since we started we have been playing about a festival a month, which I think is pretty great! Anyway more info to follow.

March 8 2008 Check This Out and Get Out The Vote!
Hey Rubber Faithful, wanted to announce the screening dates for our two upcoming March 15th festivals. They are as follows: Washington D.C. Independent Film Festivals at 10 pm at the Jack Morton Auditorium, Media and Public Affairs Building. And for the East Lansing Film Festival at 4pm at the Wells Hall Theater D - Hitchcock. We are predicting major attendance at both events. The film began shooting a year to the day (well the day after) these festivals and we could not be more proud of the year that we have had (unless we had gotten into Berlin).

Also, both D.C. and East Lansing have great websites, and on them a page about RUBBERHEART. Should you feel the pull of the below graphics, pay our page a visit and vote for us. A high rating would be a lovely rubber cherry ontop of what is already a great big slice of rubber pie. All the best to you. And we hope to see you on the 15th at the screenings!

February 8 2008 Born of Lansing, Rubberheart Goes Back To The Womb
RUBBERHEART
has been accepted into the 11th EAST LANSING FILM FESTIVAL, March 12 - 20, 2008. Which is tremendously exciting not only in that it is Michigan's largest film festival, playing over 100 films, but that it is where Brian Crano (writer/director) was born. The festival also has great style and a really nicely designed website: www.elff.com which you should totally check out. No news yet as to which program we will screen in, but keep checking in for updates!

January 29 2008 Move Over West Wing - Rubberheart Storms Washington
That's right Washington D.C. is no longer just the turf of partisan blood sport. RUBBERHEART is one candidate for best short film that is not divisive. We will unify our base and the audience will come together around our message of change. And if elected to best short, would guarentee marriage rights for all: human/human, human/doll, doll/human, doll/doll. The 10th Annual Washington, D.C. Independent Film Festival will be held March 6 -16, 2008. You know the drill by now, come join us at the screening. And if you can't make it personally, get out the vote!
December 21 2007 Number Eight - Dam Short Film Festival
We are pleased to annouce that RUBBERHEART will be screening at the 4th Annual DAM SHORT FILM FESTIVAL, in Boulder City Nevada. We were asked to submit the film and are so pleased we have been chosen to screen. The festival takes place between February 7 - 9, 2008. RUBBERHEART will screen in the UNDERGROUND section, 11pm February 8, 2008. If you are in the area, you know the drill, go and support some short films. This promises to be a fun one!

November 27 2007 London Calling, Rubber Answering The Call

Stellar news friends! Days after highly successful screenings in Oslo, RUBBERHEART has been invited to screen as part of the fifth annual LONDON SHORT FILM FESTIVAL, January 4th - 13th. The festival takes place right in the heart of London, screening films at the Curzon Soho Theatre, as well as at the Institute For Contemporary Arts.

RUBBERHEART has been programmed into a selection called FUCKED UP LOVE, which will screen 4 p.m. Saturday, January 5th, 2008 at the Institute For Contemporary Arts. We will be screening our fresh minted Pal Digi-Beta print of the film, which looks glorious and rich. Quyen Tran's brilliant cinematography looks so lush and alive on this print. Well worth a watch.

So please, tell your friends, tell your family, but most of all tell yourself to come down and join us. As it's London, there will be a huge party to follow, with many members of the cast and crew in attendance. No, not the dolls.

November 26 2007 Oslo Update.
I've just returned from the Oslo International Film Festival and boy did I have a sweet time. It's a unique place, Norway, unlike anywhere I have been. There is a directness of the people that is really unparalleled. The festival was fantastic. The number of quality films they present is unmatched anywhere in the states. While I was there I viewed the following films and just wanted to give them a quick shout out: Born Without, I'm Not There (Todd Haynes is my hero), Black White + Gray, My Blueberry Nights (embarrassing), Savage Grace (Redmayne was amazing), I Love Hip Hop in Morocco, the Short Film Program and of course Mister Lonely. Also the guys at the festival couldn't have been more helpful or nice to me and I really appreciate it. Thanks Tommy, Eirik, Hans and everyone there.

November 9 2007 Oslo International Film Festival Update Omnibus

We are pleased to update you with some exciting news about RUBBERHEART's upcoming screeenings at the 17th annual Oslo International Film Festival.

RUBBERHEART has been chosen to screen as the opening film for Harmony Korine's feature MISTER LONELY (starring Diego Luna, Samantha Morton, and Werner Herzog). We are thrilled to be screening with Mr. Korine's film, as we here at Rubberheart are huge fans of his films Kids and Gummo.

RUBBERHEART will also screen in the International Shorts screenings. We have been informed that RUBBERHEART is one of only seven short films showing in the festival. In amazing company with Wes Anderson's HOTEL CHEVALIER, Erik Rosenlund's LOOKING GLASS, Elisa Miller's Cannes Golden Palm winner VER LLOVER, Laila El-Haddad/Saeed Taji Farouky's TUNNEL TRADE, Jean-Gabriel Periot's multiple award winner EVEN IF SHE HAD BEEN A CRIMINAL, and Jean-Gabriel Periot's 200,000 PHANTOMS.

Also the line up of features at the festival is pretty staggering. Including Brian's hero Todd Hayne's I'M NOT THERE, Team Rubberheart's good friend Eddie Redmayne's film SAVAGE GRACE, Sean Penn's INTO THE WILD, Wes Anderson's DARJEELING LIMITED, Jason Reitman's JUNO, and master Ang Lee's LUST, CAUTION.

Team Rubberheart could not be more excited to be participating in this festival and being allowed the chance to explore Oslo and Norway beyond. Hope you can join us in Norway. And if not, keep checking this space, for all the updates.

For more information and the complete program, check out the festival's site at www.oslofilmfestival.com.
